
Topic: Rev Dr Ken R. Manley. An Australian Baptist Identity.
A boy from Yagoona from a nominally Anglican family, schooled in a Roman Catholic institution, who became a Baptist, trained under G.H. Morling in Sydney, completed his PhD in 1967 at Regents Park College, Oxford. He pastored Baptist churches in NSW, then lectured Church History at Baptist colleges in Adelaide & Sydney before becoming Principal of the Victorian Baptist College. Recognised as a leader among Australian Baptists and among the international Baptist family. In the introduction to his autobiography Ken Manley states, ‘Each person’s life is a search for identity’. His story is not only the story of his developing identity but also his role in the search for an Australian Baptist identity.

Graeme, now retired, trained at Morling College and pastored churches in NSW. He completed his PhD through Bristol University in association with Bristol Baptist College (UK) in 1993. He commenced full time lecturing in Church History at Morling College in 1996 and became the Associate Dean of the now Australian University of Theology in 2007.
